PHARMACY TECHNICIAN– Per Diem (PRN) - JPS Correctional Health Pharmacy

We are seeking a compassionate, caring, and customer‑focused Per Diem (PRN) Pharmacy Technician to work weekend night shifts, as needed, in the JPS Correctional Pharmacy in Fort Worth, TX. Prior pharmacy experience is required, along with flexibility to work as needed in a fast‑paced environment. The pharmacy is managed by VytlOne.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (These duties must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.  This document in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position):

 

The PRN Pharmacy Technician will provide as‑needed support within the correctional health pharmacy, including:

  • Filling, packaging, and preparing inmate medications
  • Processing requested orders through EMR system
  • Controlled substances handling per regulations
  • Inventory management and unit restocking
  • Assisting with medication pass preparation
  • Troubleshooting medication issues
  • Maintaining compliance with all security and pharmacy standards
  • Answer telephones quickly and with courtesy.
  • Participate in pharmacy orientation programs, training programs for Pharmacy Technicians, pharmacy staff meetings, in-service educational programs and other committees and functions as required by the facility and pharmacy department.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Active Pharmacy Technician registration with the Texas Board of Pharmacy
  • Must be PTCB or NHA certified
  • Prior inpatient, correctional, or high-volume pharmacy experience preferred
  • Must pass background check for correctional health facility

Scheduling Expectations

  • PRN, as-needed coverage for call outs and or preplanned PTO
  • May include weekends, evenings or overnight (7pm-7am) based on operational need
  • No guaranteed minimum hours
