Staff Pharmacist – Part Time - Coastal Bend Wellness Pharmacy

 

Hours: Must be able to work a minimum of (2) Fridays and (2) Saturdays per month. There may also be an option for additional PRN hours during the week.

 

VytlOne (formerly Maxor National Pharmacy Services) is seeking a compassionate, caring and customer focused Pharmacist to work part time in the Coastal Bend Wellness Pharmacy located in Corpus Christi, TX. This pharmacy is managed by VytlOne, headquartered in Amarillo, TX.

 

The Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation (CBWF) is a grass-roots, community based non-profit organization, with a long standing history of providing services to those in our community that are often disenfranchised, taking on causes to fill gaps in services that no other agency provides. Current services include primary health care, mental health and substance misuse programs, infectious disease testing, education and linkage to treatment, and evidence-based substance misuse prevention curriculum for youth.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (These duties must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation. This document in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position):

 

  1. Interpret and fill drug orders.
  2. Provide patient information and counseling.
  3. Contact and confer with physicians regarding questions or irregularities on prescriptions.
  4. Dispense prescriptions, compound, and prepare I.V. admixtures (if applicable).
  5. Monitor drug therapy for contraindications, interactions, allergies and appropriateness.
  6. Maintain patients’ medication records.
  7. Maintain inventory and records of controlled drugs and other drugs as required by law.
  8. Supervise pharmacy technicians in routine performance of their duties.
  9. Provide drug information to professional staff and patients as necessary.
  10. Participate in inventory control programs such as ordering, inventorying and monitoring correct pricing and quantities.
  11. Attend and participate in programs, committees, meetings, and functions as required by the facility or pharmacy.
  12. Participate in educational programs for professional staff as necessary.
  13. Participate in pharmacy orientation programs, pharmacy staff meetings and in-service educational programs.
  14. Participate in activities resolving unsafe and unsanitary practices.
  15. Exemplify excellence in customer communications and service.
  16. Work cooperatively with other staff members to enhance the team concept.
  17. Participate in the Performance Improvement Program.
  18. Maintains regular attendance in accordance with established policies.
  19. Promptly report any allegations of impropriety to the Compliance Department.
  20. Comply with VytlOne’s Ethical Business Conduct policy and VytlOne’s Compliance Program.
  21. Remain free from exclusion under the OIG and SAMS Medicare/Medicaid lists.
  22. Complete required training and ensure the departmental staff training is completed as required.
  23. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  24. Ensure staff is informed of product upgrades or enhancements in a timely manner.
  25. Develop and mentor departmental staff by providing career coaching; motivate departmental staff, individually and as a group; understand and support diversity; and establish an effective team.
  26. Promote teamwork; discipline staff when warranted.
  27. Complete other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree, or Pharm. D. (preferred), from an approved School of Pharmacy; Clear/Current TX Pharmacist License required. Must not have disciplines on license with TX BOP.

 

Experience: One-year experience as a practicing pharmacist is preferred. 

 

Skills and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of drugs and their indications, contraindications, dosing, side effects, and proper administration.
  2. Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
  3. Knowledge of polices and regulations pertaining to the disbursement of pharmaceutical drugs.
  4. Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
  5. Ability to supervise and train assigned staff.
  6. Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements (if applicable).
  7. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
  8. Ability to assume essential responsibilities and duties in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager
  9. Bilingual Spanish preferred but not required
