Overview

Maxor National Pharmacy Services is seeking a highly competent, kind and compassionate Pharmacy Manager (PIC) for a new Hudson Headwaters Health Network pharmacy that will be opening 2/11/2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a Pharmacy Manager with leadership experience, to join an outstanding team of dedicated professionals, while managing a pharmacy and support staff. The pharmacy will be managed by Maxor National Pharmacy Services, headquartered in Amarillo, TX.

The Pharmacy Manager (PIC) directs and coordinates all pharmacy activities, including clinical services, performance improvement, dispensing, and the purchasing, receipt and storage of pharmaceuticals.  They will collaborate with upper level management in order to ensure the delivery of high quality pharmacy services and safe, effective, and appropriate medication treatment.

Hudson Headwaters Health Network is a nonprofit system of 23 community health centers providing primary care to more than 7,900 square miles of the Adirondack North Country and Glens Falls region. The Network serves all of Warren County and parts of Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Hamilton, Saratoga and Washington counties. Hudson Headwaters is the sole medical provider in much of this rural, medically underserved region. The Network cares for 162,000 patients in over 90 locations throughout the region, including local health centers, in hospitals, nursing homes, work places, schools and other community locations. A Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), Hudson Headwaters’ mission is to provide care to everyone in the communities we serve, regardless of income or insurance. Our practitioners care for 9,100 patients each week, accounting for about 475,000 patient visits in 2023.

 

The compensation range for this position is 160k-175k based on experience. 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (These duties must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.  This document in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position):

 

  1. Assist the Director of Operations to ensure the pharmacy provides optimal service, meets legal and accreditation/certification requirements, and complies with all policies and standards of Maxor National Pharmacy Services Corporation. Comply with Maxor’s Ethical Business Conduct policy and Maxor’s Compliance Program.
  2. Maintain daily operation of pharmacy department by supervising pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in the routine performance of their duties.
  3. Ensure the pharmacy is adequately staffed during all hours of operation.
  4. Schedule pharmacy staff for routine, weekend, holiday, and on-call hours.
  5. Provide appropriate technical and customer service training for pharmacy staff.
  6. Provide drug information to meet the needs of physicians and nurses through direct contact or in-service programs. Contact and confer with physicians regarding questions or irregularities on prescriptions.
  7. Prepare various reports and maintain records or supervise the maintenance of records as required or requested by the Director of Operations.
  8. Maintain current knowledge of drug therapies and drug reactions and interactions by reading professional literature, attending seminars and utilizing professional affiliations.
  9. Monitor drug therapy for contraindications, interactions, allergies, and appropriateness.
  10. Provide patient information and counseling and maintain patient medication records.
  11. Interpret and fill drug orders.
  12. Participate in inventory control programs such as ordering, inventorying, and monitoring as required by the Director of Operations.
  13. Work Inventory Reports to maintain inventory and turns.
  14. Participate in activities resolving unsafe and unsanitary practices.
  15. Attend and participate in other programs, committees, meetings, and functions required by the pharmacy department.
  16. Maintain inventory and records of controlled drugs and other drugs as required by law.
  17. Ensure the delivery of positive customer service and follow up on customer complaints.
  18. Work cooperatively with other staff members to enhance the team concept.
  19. Participate in the development and implementation of the Performance Improvement Program.
  20. Maintain regular performance in accordance with established policies.
  21. Promptly report any allegations of impropriety to the Compliance Department.
  22. Remain free from exclusion under the OIG and SAMS Medicare/Medicaid lists.
  23. Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

 

Education:  Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy.  PharmD is preferred. Licensed to practice pharmacy in New York. Must be a NY State Certified Immunizer

 

Experience: Three years pharmacy experience.  One-year managerial experience required.
