Pharmacy Technician- Full Time - Indian Stream Health Center  Pharmacy

 

Exciting opportunity for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to work within the Indian Stream Health Center Pharmacy. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity for a pharmacy technician with a retail pharmacy background and an active NH pharmacy technician license.

The ISHC Pharmacy is located on the ground floor of the Indian Stream Health Center Colebrook, NH location.  It is a full service pharmacy, offering a large selection of over-the-counter items in addition to retail and 340B prescription services.

Indian Stream Health Center remains committed to providing high quality, comprehensive personal health care to our community. The pharmacy is available to all for most prescriptions. ​The dedicated staff within the ISHC Pharmacy want to remind all community members that one doesn’t have to be a patient of Indian Stream Health Center to access the Pharmacy. All community members are welcome.

The pharmacy is managed by Maxor National Pharmacy Services.

 

Hours of Operation:
Monday - Wednesday & Friday: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
Thursday: 8:30 am - 7:00 pm
Saturday & Sunday: Closed

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (These duties must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.  This document in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position):

  1. Assist pharmacists in providing effective, appropriate, and safe pharmacy services.
  2. Provide friendly and cooperative customer service.
  3. Enter patient data accurately.
  4. Answer telephones quickly and with courtesy.
  5. Operate the cash register and ring sales.
  6. Pull and count medication from shelves accurately according to label generated at time of dispensing for final check by Pharmacist.
  7. Participate in pharmacy orientation programs, training programs for Pharmacy Technicians, pharmacy staff meetings, in-service educational programs and other committees and functions as required by the facility and pharmacy department.
  8. Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy.
  9. Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
  10. Assist in inventory control such as auditing receipt of goods, inventorying, stocking, pricing, monitoring usage, and correcting pricing and quantities in the computer.
  11. Remove, pick up, and/or deliver drug orders if necessary.
  12. Inform patients of any notations on prescription bag.
  13. Inform the pharmacist of any alerts form the pharmacy system, such as contraindications, interactions, and allergies.
  14. Enter and maintain non-preferred drug requests in the PA system.
  15. Verify NDC number to pull and count medications form shelves.
  16. Participate in activities resolving unsafe and unsanitary practices.
  17. Issue supplies to other pharmacies or departments as needed.
  18. Pre-pack and document medications accurately as needed.
  19. Participate in the Performance Improvement Program.
  20. Work cooperatively with other staff members to enhance the team concept.
  21. Promptly report any allegations of impropriety to the Compliance Department.
  22. Comply with Maxor’s Ethical Business Conduct policy and Maxor’s Compliance Program.
  23. Remain free from exclusion under the OIG and SAMS Medicare/Medicaid lists.
  24. Complete required training, as assigned, within the established timeframes.
  25. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  26. Maintains regular attendance according to established policies.
  27. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.  National PTCB pharmacy technician ceritifcation is a PLUS

 

Experience: A minimum of one year of equivalent experience requiring a familiarity of generic and trade names of pharmaceutical products

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. General knowledge of generally accepted pharmacy principles, practices and procedures, pharmaceutical generic and trade names, general mathematics, personal computers.
  2. Ability to operate various types of pharmacy equipment.
  3. Ability to use a CRT to access patient/drug information systems.
  4. Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time while performing pharmacy service support duties.
  5. Ability to lift; store and carry supplies and equipment.
  6. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, to interact with a wide variety of individuals to successfully provide optimal patient care. Work schedule varies by pharmacy. May be required to work rotating shifts including holiday, weekends, nights and on-call.
