Responsibilities

  1. Conduct continuous monitoring of security alerts and incidents and facilitate automation/orchestration as applicable.
  2. Employing advanced threat hunting techniques to identify potential threats, utilizing multiple threat intelligence sources to proactively seek out and neutralize potential security risks.
  3. Perform as 1st line of incident management and response for the Security team.
  4. Perform regular vulnerability assessment and management of security platforms.
  5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to security configurations, procedures, and incidents, including details from threat hunting activities. Prepare and present reports on threat hunting metrics, incidents, and risk assessments to management.
  6. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.
  7. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Associate’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or similar discipline from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Security certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) are a plus but not required.

 Experience:

  • 5+ years of directly related experience.
  • Experience with relevant security platforms like Rapid7, CrowdStrike, Cyberhaven, CloudFlare, Proofpoint

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of personnel.
  2. Expert understanding of Operating Systems including Linux / Windows.
  3. Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  4. Knowledge and understanding of a range of security related software and hardware technologies including:
    • IPS/IDS, WAF, NAC, FIM, DLP, SIEM, EDR, MDR, IVS, PEN
  5. Knowledge of network architecture and protocols.
  6. Experience with scripting (e.g., python, bash, powershell).
  7. Experience with role-based access control (AD, ADFS, SAML) (e.g. Ping Identity, Okta, OneLogIn, RSA, etc.)
  8. Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise.
  9. Knowledge of computer security system applications, procedures and techniques.
  10. Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
