Overview

Maxor National Pharmacy Services is now accepting applications for a customer service focused Pharmacy Technician to work per diem (PRN)  on the day shift within the City of Hope Outpatient Retail Pharmacy located in Newnan, GA.

Responsibilities

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (This document in no way states or implies that these are
the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position):


1. Assist pharmacists in providing effective, appropriate, and safe pharmacyservices.
2. Provide friendly and cooperative customer service.
3. Enter patient data accurately.
4. Answer telephones quickly and with courtesy.
5. Operate the cash register and ring sales.
6. Pull and count medication from shelves accurately according to label generated at time
of dispensing for final check by Pharmacist.
7. Participate in pharmacy orientation programs, training programs for Pharmacy
Technicians, pharmacy staff meetings, in-service educational programs and other
committees and functions as required by the facility and pharmacy department.
8. Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy.
9. Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
10. Assist in inventory control such as auditing receipt of goods, inventorying, stocking,
pricing, monitoring usage, and correcting pricing and quantities in the computer.
1 1. Remove, pick up, and/or deliver drug orders ifnecessary.
12. Inform patients of any notations on prescription bag.
13. Inform the pharmacist of any alerts form the pharmacy system, such as contraindications,
interactions, and allergies.
14. Enter and maintain non-preferred drug requests in the PA system.
15. Verify NDC number to pull and count medications form shelves.
16. Participate in activities resolving unsafe and unsanitary practices.
17. Issue supplies to other pharmacies or departments as needed.
18. Pre-pack and document medications accurately as needed.
19. Participate in the Performance ImprovementProgram.
20. Work cooperatively with other staff members to enhance the team concept.
21. Maintains regular attendance according to established policies.
22.Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
23. Promptly report any allegations of impropriety to the Compliance Department.
24. Comply with Maxor's Ethical Business Conduct policy and Maxor's Compliance
Program.
25. Remain free from exclusion under the OIG and SAMS Medicare/Medicaid lists.
26. Complete required training, as assigned, within the established timeframes.
27. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Education:

  • Current PTCB and State of GA Pharmacy Technician license
  • HS Diploma/GED required
  • Flexible availability on a PRN basis

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years of prior pharmacy tech experience in a retail setting preferred
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Proven computer skills in Microsoft Office

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to problem solve and multi-task
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people, including patients and physicians
