Pharmacist - Whatley Health Services Pharmacy, Tuscaloosa, AL

 

Part Time/Saturdays - $90 per hour - Saturday 8am-3pm

 

Exciting opportunity for an experienced Per Diem Staff Pharmacist to work in the Whatley Health Services community healthcare center onsite pharmacy. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity for a pharmacist with a retail pharmacy background and an active AL pharmacist license. In this integrated model, the Pharmacy Team will work closely with providers and clinic staff collaboratively, providing team-based medicine with a strong pharmacy component to provide optimal care for patients.

 

Maxor National Pharmacy Services, headquartered in Amarillo, TX, will manage the pharmacy. The Pharmacy Manager, a Maxor employee, is a competent, dynamic leader who is responsible for the coordination of patient services within the pharmacy and supervision of pharmacy staff.

Responsibilities

 

Responsible for performing all of the dispensing duties of a pharmacist, that all customers receive safe and accurate dispensing, and for adhering to all State and Federal Pharmacy laws regarding the dispensing of medications, record keeping, etc. Successful candidate will also be responsible for expanding and enhancing clinical services in the ambulatory care setting including MTM in this position. 

 

Qualifications

 

Education:                             

  • Bachelor’s degree, or Pharm. D., from an approved school of pharmacy and registration by the state board of licensure.
  • Licensed to practice pharmacy in Alabama

Experience:                            

  • One-year experience as a practicing pharmacist is preferred
  • Knowledge of drugs and their indications, contraindications, dosing, side effects, and proper administration.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
  • Knowledge of polices and regulations pertaining to the disbursement of pharmaceutical drugs.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
  • Ability to supervise and train assigned staff.
  • Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
  • Ability to assume essential responsibilities and duties in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager
