Overview

The DevOps Engineer II works with the software development staff to ensure Business requested changes are delivered as quickly as possible with the highest quality and security. Drives migration to the cloud. Develops ways to automate and improve development and release processes. Resolves deployment issues, working on improving deployment and release processes. Collaborates with security team to ensure that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats. 

 

Position Location

This is a remote-based position within the Continental US.

Responsibilities

  1. Works primarily with assigned business unit to support business operations.
  2. Partner with Pharmacy Development lead engineer and create documentation of physical architecture design depicting the environment topology.
  3. Work with the team to identify infrastructure architecture tasks to be included in the project plan.
  4. Work with team to set up and maintain the CI/CD Pipeline through all environments – Dev, QA, Upgrade, and Prod.
  5. Manage and configure IIS on systems that host the Pharmacy web applications.
  6. Install Pharmacy applications on all environments – Dev, QA, Upgrade, and Prod.
  7. Ensure system changes are implemented correctly and troubleshoot associated issues.
  8. Develop and maintain system documentation.
  9. Promote teamwork and a positive atmosphere by working with other employees to achieve the goals of the Information Technology department as well as the goals of the company.

Qualifications

Education:                             

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science Business Management, or similar discipline from an accredited college or university preferred.

Experience:                           

  • 3-5 years of directly related experience.
  • One or more: Jenkins, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes or similar experience Or
  • Azure AZ-400 (Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert
  • A minimum of 4 + years working in DevOps plus a minimum of 2+ years’ experience in System Administration and/or network management
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows server environment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of personnel.
  2. Knowledge and understanding of a range of computer and networking software and hardware systems and related technologies.
  3. Ability to install, configure, and maintain servers, cloud systems, and/or related hardware and software.
  4. Ability to deploy, troubleshoot, automate deployment to different servers. Strong foundational knowledge of web applications infrastructure platform, IIS management & configuration, and windows-based applications install and settings. All these includes knowledge of configuration management, settings, access controls (system or users)
  5. Basic knowledge of NTFS permissions, FTP, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, GPO, AD, VMware, PowerShell, MS Windows Server 2012 – 2019, Monitoring tools, SSO and IIS
  6. Ability to troubleshoot moderately complex IT issues.
  7. Strong understanding of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Travis CI) and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  8. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PS).
  9. Solid understanding of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  10. Working knowledge of Agile principles.
  11. Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles.
  12. Azure DevOps Pipelines
  13. GIT Source Code Management
  14. Ability to develop Infrastructure as Code (Pulumi and/or Terraform preferred)
  15. Ability to create automated testing for IaC
  16. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  17. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of personnel.
  18. Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects.
  19. Ability to adhere to project timelines and document progress.
