Overview

Maxor National Pharmacy Services is seeking a highly competent Pharmacy Systems Support Specialist with working knowledge of pharmacy systems and operations. Qualified candidates will have experience preferrably having worked in an inpatient hospital or LTC pharmacy setting, including both front and back end fulfillment experience, with 1-2 years of project managmenet experience a plus.

 

Job Summary:

This position will be responsible for meeting all pharmacy operations support needs of the pharmacies within the CA Corrections system, including managing training projects and documentation development for assigned applications, monitoring helpdesk needs, equipment needs, and general operations support. The Pharmacy Systems Support Specialist will play a significant role in monitoring, and as needed, troubleshooting the functionality and integrity of all Maxor applications, interfaces and modules utilized by the client for prescription processing and reporting activities within their environment. As an “Ambassador” of Maxor, this position is also responsible for maintaining positive relationships with not only the pharmacy staff but the clinical management, as well.

Responsibilities

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (These duties must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.  This document in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position):

 

  1. Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, partners and clients.
  2. Monitor and report upon Service Level Agreements
  3. Coordinate and collaborate with system upgrades and other implementations.
  4. Create project plan for system changes.
  5. Assist in management and escalation for Help Desk requests.
  6. Troubleshoot system issues.
  7. Assist with maintenance of servers and printers.
  8. Training for new users and changes to systems
  9. Document system changes and create such training materials as are necessary.
  10. Promptly report any allegations of impropriety to the Compliance Department.
  11. Comply with Maxor’s Ethical Business Conduct policy and Maxor’s Compliance Program.
  12. Remain free from exclusion under the OIG and SAMS Medicare/Medicaid lists.
  13. Complete required training, as assigned, within the established timeframes.
  14. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  15. Maintain regular attendance in accordance with established policies.
  16. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

Education: Associates degree in Information Technology or related field. Equivalent experience in an outpatient or retail pharmacy setting may be substituted for Associates degree. Certified Pharmacy Technician certification required.  

 

 

Experience: Specialized experience that includes working knowledge of pharmacy in an inpatient hospital or LTC/Skilled Nursing setting preferred. 1-2 years’ experience in project management, having worked on complex projects.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Understanding of Software Maintenance Process and testing capabilities
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
  • Support and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to triage hardware and software issues and escalate with recommendations for timely solutions.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records and system integration.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Critical thinking and organizational skills
  • Experience in conducting end user training sessions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Powerpoint and Visio) and SQL very desirable
  • Ability to communicate effectively and concisely with a wide spectrum of health care, information technology and administrative team members.
  • Ability to rapidly modify or shift priorities to meet client/patient needs as required.

 

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS: Security Clearance required per site/correctional facility requirements.
