Overview

The Business Analyst is a valuable member of the PMO team and is responsible for enabling change in the enterprise by defining needs and recommending solutions that deliver value to stakeholders. The BA will execute on projects, as a liaison among business operations, technology groups, clients, business partners, vendors to understand and analyze business needs, requirements, and impacts of business changes because of strategic initiatives, operational changes, compliance requirements, client needs, and technology or operational improvements.  The business analyst is a change agent, who brings a disciplined approach for introducing and managing change to organizations.

 

Position Location

This is a remote-based position within the Continental US.

Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring feasibility of delivery.
  2. Bridge the gap between the business and IT using facilitation skills and requirements analysis to assess process gaps, determine requirements and deliver recommendations for process re-engineering, improvements, or enhancements.
  3. Work with Stakeholders, SMEs, and project teams to elicit and document goals, high level requirements, business capability gaps, and success metrics. Define and validate business needs with project team.
  4. Participate in stakeholder analysis and identify subject matter experts needed for work effort. Work with Project Manager and business owner to plan the business analysis approach and activities. Support the Project Management and solution teams to determine estimates for work.
  5. With support, prepare for, conduct, and document elicitation sessions. Assess capability gaps, determine business and functional solution options and approach, and define solution scope. Define detailed business requirements with SMEs that tie back to success metrics and/or capability gaps; document the requirements in a business requirements document (waterfall methodology) or Product Backlog (Agile methodology). Work with PM and business owner to do reviews of requirements and identify risks or issues with solution, bring details back to project team for evaluation.
  6. Use analytical thinking by rapidly assimilating various types of information (for example, diagrams, stakeholder concerns, customer feedback, schematics, user guides, and spreadsheets), and identifying which are relevant. Business analysts should be able to quickly choose effective and adaptable methods to learn and analyze the media, audiences, problem types, and environments to determine the most effective solution options and value of the change.
  7. Manage requirements traceability to solution scope, objectives, system requirements, and testing.
  8. Support UAT by conducting UAT planning with support from the BA Manager to define the user acceptance testing approach, assist in UAT creation, execution and defect resolution (execute change control process).
  9. Participate in developing and improving the practice, processes and standards of Business Analysis.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor Degree in Business Management, or similar discipline from an accredited college or university

Experience:   

  • 2 - 6 years of directly related experience
  • Retail Pharmacy, Specialty Pharmacy, Pharmacy Benefit Management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of business analysis
  2. Proven experience in facilitation
  3. Proven experience in requirement gathering techniques and producing business requirement documents
  4. Proven experience in change management
  5. Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals
  6. Negotiation skills
  7. Conflict Management skills
  8. Planning and organization skills
  9. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
