Overview

PHARMACIST – Per Diem 

 

We are seeking a compassionate, caring and customer focused Per Diem Staff Pharmacist to work PRN in our Maxor Pharmacy in the Port Arthur area. Prior retail pharmacy experience and flexibility to work as needed is required, as well as the ability to work in a fast paced environment.  Current TX Pharmacist licensure required.

Hours of operation are Mon- Fri 8:30am-5:30pm.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

Under general direction, ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations for the pharmacy; dispenses prescribed medications; may provide functional supervision of support staff.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or Pharm. D., from an approved school of pharmacy 
  • Clear and Active license from the Texas Board of Pharmacy

Experience:

  • One-year experience as a practicing pharmacist is preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of drugs and their indications, contraindications, dosing, side effects, and proper administration.
  2. Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
  3. Knowledge of polices and regulations pertaining to the disbursement of pharmaceutical drugs.
  4. Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
  5. Ability to supervise and train assigned staff.
  6. Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements (if applicable).
  7. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. 
  8. Ability to assume essential responsibilities and duties in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager
